Since 2018 I’ve been building professor websites until I got so busy I stopped doing the design part myself, focusing on the strategy. I missed the creativity of building websites. I had to be intentional about my time and energy, just like you do when prioritizing your team’s research. Just a few times a year, I have capacity to help groups that need more support with their website. The Principal Investigators who need this service do meaningful research and make an impact on their communities. This service isn’t by the hour, it isn’t by the page. Your Website Strategy includes as many pages as your website needs. It’s a good fit for more extensive websites typically needed by research centers, research groups, and initiatives. For example, a recent website plan recommends 37 pages to support their audiences.

I started designing research lab and group websites when my PI clients asked for support with their project after we finished their personal academic website. There was a point where I was so busy, I felt like I had to give up the design aspect of working with professors on their websites.
The Website VIP Day was sparked when a professor client needed a quick website. I thought, I can create a 3 page website in a day, 100%. At the end of the night, she had 7 beautiful, customized pages of her personal academic website, a custom WordPress website designed just for her. It wasn’t a cookie cutter website. It had touches of her personality. It felt intentional. We’d gathered her materials together in advance, so the day-of I was set to go.
For your Website VIP Day, 100% of my focus will be on you and your website. And while all that work, creativity, and design happens for you in 1 day, we’ll have planned in advance. We take time to be intentional about your hopes and goals for your website during your in-depth planning meeting on Zoom. We have a shared Onboarding Document to collaborate on writing, gathering materials for your website, etc.
